Get involved

Volunteering: CamGlen Radio wants you!

People volunteer for a variety of reasons – to have something to do, to gain work experience, to give something back to the community – the list goes on...

CamGlen Radio, part of Healthy n Happy Community Development Trust, involves local people as volunteers who take part in everything that goes on at CamGlen Radio - in front of the mic, on the air and behind the scenes.

Without volunteers the station would cease to exist as local people are involved in every facet – from producing radio programmes, to providing technical support, presenting programmes, providing broadcast assistance and much more.

Why not join our team? We have volunteers from every age and background: this is how we ensure that CamGlen Radio is made for the community, by the community. Many of our volunteers had little or no radio experience until they came here, so you need not have experience!

Volunteer and you will:

  • Learn whatever skills you need to be involved at a radio station and put them into practice
  • Meet likeminded, enthusiastic people
  • Build your confidence
  • Get some (fun) work experience
  • Be a part of something special and unique
  • Support a project that reaches out to everyone living in the local area

Priority is given to residents of Cambuslang, Rutherglen and surrounding areas.

All we ask is that:

  • You are willing to commit some regular time each week
  • You are interested and enthusiastic

Get exposure on CamGlen Radio!

Are you in a band? Do you produce music? Are you in a performance group (e.g. drama?)

We have a proud history of giving on air exposure to emerging bands and artists – as well as welcoming more established outfits – on CamGlen Radio.

Not content with an interview and some CD plays, in the past we have always pushed to get full bands in the studio performing live on air and since 2017 we have hosted more than 250 live sessions – for many of these artists, this was their first taste of performing live on radio. Likewise, we welcome drama groups and similar performance groups too.

If you’re interested in getting featured on CamGlen, with the possibility of making it to our ‘A’ playlist (giving you loads of daytime airtime), then get in touch – send your music and a bit of info about yourself to: promo@camglenradio.org.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate live sessions or any other 'in-person' activities while COVID-19 lockdown restrictions are in place, but we're all looking forward to inviting artists along once the pandemic is over.

We can’t wait to hear your music!

Promote your event!

Got an event coming up in Cambuslang, Rutherglen or nearby areas? Let us know and if your event is not-for-profit we will be happy to promote it on air! Send details of your event to: whatson@camglenradio.org

Got a great idea?

We try our best to make great radio and we are always open minded when it comes to new ideas! If you want to float an idea with us or if you're looking for more information about CamGlen Radio, contact enquiries@camglenradio.org.

As a charity we need to raise income and funds for our projects supporting our local residents and communities. We need committed and enthusiastic people like you to get involved. Whether you hold a sponsored event, take part in an organised event, make a one off donation or a regular donation or give us your time and energy, you can make a huge difference to the most vulnerable of all ages in our communities.

All donations are an investment in the future of the people in our communities of Cambuslang and Rutherglen, and are gratefully received.
